Frequently Asked Questions
Will you be the DJ at my wedding?: Yes, I am the only DJ at my company and do not hire anyone else to DJ/MC your wedding.

Do you offer a written contract?: Yes. The contract protects your deposit.

Can we meet before signing contract?: Absolutely, I meet all of my clients. This way you can get a feel for my personality and I can get a good idea from you on how to personalize your wedding reception entertainment.

How long have you been a wedding DJ?: I have been a DJ/MC for weddings over 10 years.

How many weddings do you do each year?: About 50 per year including other types of events.

Do you MC and handle all anouncements?: Yes, I handle all announcements including introductions, getting your guests involved (dancing), introducing those doing toasts, announcing dinner, and anything else you would like me to announce.

How do you motivate guests to dance if no one is dancing?: It's hardly ever that guests are not dancing during the dancing part of the night, but if this happens I recommend playing a dance floor grabber or even lowering the lighting in the room to make it darker. I notice at some weddings if the venue lighting is too bright, people will be afraid to dance even if their favorite song is playing.

What happens if you cannot make it to the wedding?: If something drastic happens and I am not able to be available, then I have multiple other DJs I can call as backup. I can brief them on all details of your wedding by granting them access to my online tools that stores all my notes.

Can we watch you perform before booking?: Since weddings are a private event, I cannot invite others to my events. However, I do have a video on my website that will allow you to see how I perform. Please contact me for the link to the video and password.

Can we call your references?: Absolutely, just let me know how many people you feel like calling and I'll send you their names, phones numbers, and emails. In some cases I have their testimonial as well.

How much involvement can we have in music selection?: As much as you want.

Can we request music on your website?: I have a custom client login on my website that will allow you to choose as much music as you want. You can even personalize each song. It is an incredible tool.

Do you take requests the night of the wedding?: Yes. I play songs that are requested by you and your guests. If a guest requests a song on your DO NOT PLAY list, I will not play it unless I get the okay from you.

When do you arrive to begin setup/preparation?: Usually 2.5 hours prior to your wedding. Setup generally takes 1.5 hours, so this gives me a good hour to go through my notes and tend to anything that needs attention.

What type of clothing do you typically wear to weddings?: All the way from formal to casual.

What do you require to secure the date (contract/deposit)?: I require a deposit and a contract to hold the date.

Do you charge for overtime? If so, how much?: I do not charge for over time. My rates are based on a day rate so you do not need to worry about paying for extra time if you want to extend the good times.

Do you require a meal?: No, but it is always appreciated.

Are you insured? If so, how much liability coverage?: Yes, $1,000,000 liability policy. If the venue requires proof of insurance, I can fax it to them.

Do you take breaks?: I do not take breaks.

Do you drink alcohol or smoke during the wedding?: I never drink alcohol at weddings and I do not smoke.

What kind of equipment do you use?: I use premium Mackie Speakers, professional DJ equipment by Pioneer, Apple Laptop for music, Samson Wireless Mic, Dancing Lights by American DJ, and Venue LED Up Lighting.

Do you have backup equipment?: Yes, I bring extra speakers and also have CD backups of all my music and yours. When I say your music, I mean all of your special dances, introduction songs, ceremony songs, etc.

Do you bring a wireless microphone?: Yes, the range is over 100 yards.

Do you have lighting? If so, what kind?: Yes, dancing lights that move to the beat of the music for the dancing part of the night. I also have LED Up Lighting that is HIGHLY recommended.

Do you advertise with a sign or banner during weddings?: Never.

What is your cancellation policy?: The deposit is non-refundable if canceling 90 days or less from the day of the wedding. However, if your wedding date changes and I am still available, the full deposit can be applied towards the new date.
