This will depend on the guests. I have learned a variety of ways to get people up and dancing without being obnoxious. The easy one is to speak with the guests and take requests.

Only if it is an event open to the public. Unfortunately there have been a couple of situations that have arisen from allowing "strangers" to "peek in" on someone's special event.
